Good news for golfers relocating to Colorado!  If you love golf, you’re driving the ball 10% further.  Holy SHIFT we said 10%!  In Denver’s thin air, golf balls go about 10% more in distance than they would at sea level.  And so do cocktails!  If you’re drinking on or off the course, alcohol packs more of a punch and is more potent in the Mile High City than if you’re drinking the same amount at sea level.

Swinging into the Denver housing market, it’s still on a roll!  If you’re buying this Spring, get ready for quite the ride! The Denver Metro area is expected to attract 57,000 new residents in 2017.  In January, active inventory was 5.5% lower than last January, bringing the new record low to 3,989 residential homes (single family and condos)*.  If you are buying a home under $600K, make sure you are well equipped with an agent and lender who know the market and can help your offer stand out.  Check with the lender who pre-qualifies you and ask if they have an in-house underwriter and a track record of closing on time.   If you don’t have this in your pocket, you can kiss that home you had your eye on goodbye.

Speaking of kissing, one more fun fact.  In 1902, the police at Denver Union Station started enforcing a “no kissing” rule on platforms because it slowed down the trains.   Talk about taking the fun out of a welcome home!
